..::There's what we call TMA in NOUN

    TMA means Tutor Marked Assessment.

TMA is the test written every semester by all students from 100L to 800L.

There are 3 TMAs in a semester.

    TMA1, TMA 2 & TMA 3.

They are done in different times as scheduled by the school management.

TMA 1 may last for 2-3weeks depending on the school management.

Each of this TMAs carries 10 marks each.

For instance, a Business Administration student having 9 courses in first semester has TMA for each of the courses registered.

Gst101 or GST707 or GST807 has TMA 1-3 and carries 10 each, a total of 30marks if done appropriately.

Now here's something, Exam is over 70.

If you score 30 as overall mark in each of ur TMA, and then you get 40/70 in exams, it means you already have 70Marks total because 30+40=70

It goes on and on with other courses.

    Hope this is clear?
